More Brussels

After my little bus tour of the city, I went on my own walking tour of the city. I was really shy feeling that day (actually I think I was just so tired and jet-lagged that I didn't feel like making an effort) so I didn't get any pictures with me in them. First up was the Grand Place. This place was full of beautifule architecture. There are really good restaurants along the Place and I ate many dinners there throughout my time. The last weekend I was there, there was a huge jazz festival on the Place. SOOOOO FUN!!!

Town Hall on the Grand Place

Shopping at the Galeries Royales St Hubert The ceiling totally reminds me of the Musee D'Orsay in Paris for some reason and that made me love this place.

This is the church of St Nicholas. It was beautiful inside but the coolest part is the outside/the background of the church. The original church burned down. The jewelers guild raised the money to rebuild the church. Since they paid to rebuild the church, the jewelers decided to build their shops into the side of the church. Nothing says religion like diamonds :)

A supposed must see is the Mannekin-Pis. I was less than impressed but I took my obligatory photo.
I loved my first day in Brussels but eventually Monday came and I was back to work.
